初、明密利。執法塵起者，是分別惑。以對意根，故曰法塵。因分別生迷理之惑，此名利使。藏之初果、通之見地、別之初住、圓之初信，皆斷此惑。

First, clarifying the subtle and sharp. Arising by clinging to the dust of mental objects is conceptual delusion. Because it faces the mind sense-faculty, it is called the dust of mental objects. Arising from conceptualization, it is the delusion that obscures principle; this is called a sharp afflictive drive. The first fruit of the Pitaka teaching, the stage of seeing of the Shared teaching, the first abodement of the Distinct teaching, and the first faith of the Perfect teaching all sever this delusion.
