二、「或言」下，明無斷。有上士者，等覺也。此位須修清淨淨禪，斷微細念故，名之為斷。無上士者，是妙覺位。修證既忘，更何所斷？

Second, from 'Or it is said' downward, explaining that there is no severance. The 'one with superiors' is equivalent awakening. This stage requires cultivating pure, unblemished dhyāna to sever subtle thought, and is therefore called 'severance.' The 'one without superiors' is the stage of wondrous awakening. Cultivation and realization having already been forgotten, what further could there be to sever?
