初、合三德對題。上文約正明於三身、觀明三觀、脫明三脫，三三皆可對金光明，此明離也。今合三身為一法身，但對金字，合於三觀為一般若，但對光字，合於三脫為一解脫，但對明字。諸經諸論以三德等作修二性一說者，圓人解之，是合三義。此意至妙，學者應知。

First, combining the three virtues to match the title. Above, the text matched the three bodies according to the correct, the three contemplations according to contemplation, and the three liberations according to liberation; each of these sets of three could match 'golden', 'light', and 'radiance'—this showed separation. Now, combining the three bodies into the single Dharma-body matches only the word 'golden'; combining the three contemplations into the single wisdom matches only the word 'light'; combining the three liberations into the single liberation matches only the word 'radiance'. The various sūtras and treatises explain the three virtues, etc., as two cultivations and one nature; when understood by a person of the perfect [teaching], these are the meanings of combining the three. This meaning is utmost subtle, and learners should understand it.
