Second, specifically praising the sea of major and minor marks, in five parts: First, specifically praising the two kinds of marks of light, in two parts: First, the four lines from "The color is pure" praise the mark of light possessed by the physical color. From "The color is pure and shines afar" onward is the fourteenth mark, of golden light. From "The radiance is blazing" onward is the fifteenth mark, of the body's light. However, with respect to these two kinds of marks of light, if based on the birth body, they both have limits, as when it is said that the body's light extends one fathom on each side. Now it says "like the thousand rays of the sun," and up to being able to illuminate afar immeasurable Buddha lands; therefore we know that when Ruciraketu in the past praised the Buddha's Noble and Exceptional [Body] as the Dragon King, he made a vow to meet Śākyamuni in the future. Today in praising the Buddha, how could he forget his root? Thus both the major and minor marks are praised with reference to the Noble and Exceptional [Body].
