Second, briefly explaining the six bowels. The Comprehensive Discussions in the White Tiger Hall says: "What are the bowels? They refer to the large intestine, small intestine, stomach, urinary bladder, triple burner, and gall bladder. The bowels are the palace offices for the viscera. The stomach is the bowel of the spleen. The urinary bladder is the bowel of the lungs. The triple burner is the bowel of the kidneys. The gall bladder is the bowel of the liver. The large intestine and small intestine are the bowels of the heart." In the commentary, the two urinary bladders form only one receptacle. The Yellow Emperor's Classic of the Pulse says: "The upper burner extends from the head down to the heart; the middle burner extends from the heart down to the navel; the lower burner extends from the navel down to the feet." The Guangya says: "The urinary bladder is the pao. The character pao is pronounced pi-jiao, meaning the water repository in the abdomen." The Sancang says: "The place containing urine is called the pao."
