1.61

依文釋者，初列十八眾、後明威儀。初中復二：初別列六眾、次總列餘。十二眾或可分二：初列聖眾、後列凡眾。列聖眾中，初聲聞眾文分為四：一標類舉數、二歎其德、三列其名、四明詣佛。初標類舉數，如本《法華疏》述。

As for explaining according to the text: It first lists the eighteen assemblies and afterwards clarifies their deportment. In the first part there are again two sections: first, listing six assemblies separately; next, listing the remaining twelve assemblies collectively. Or it may be divided into two: first, listing the noble assemblies; afterwards, listing the ordinary assemblies. In listing the noble assemblies, the initial text on the assembly of śrāvakas is divided into four: first, indicating their category and stating their number; second, praising their virtues; third, listing their names; fourth, explaining their approaching the Buddha. Stating their category and number is as described in the original Commentary on the Lotus Sūtra.
