經　「善男子！如是隨喜，當得無量功德之聚。如恒河沙三千大千世界所有眾生皆斷煩惱成阿羅漢，若有善男子善女人盡其形壽常以上妙衣服飲食臥具醫藥而為供養，如是功德不及如前隨喜功德千分之一。何以故？供養功德有數有量、不攝一切諸功德故，隨喜功德無量無數、能攝三世一切功德。」

Sūtra: 'Good sons, rejoicing in this way will yield an immeasurable collection of merit. If all sentient beings in trichiliocosms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges were to cut off defilements and become arhats, and if there were a good son or good woman who, to the end of their lives, always made offerings to them of superior clothing, food and drink, bedding, and medicine, such merit would not equal a thousandth part of the merit of rejoicing as described above. Why is this? Because the merit of making offerings has a count and a measure and does not subsume all merits, whereas the merit of rejoicing is immeasurable and countless, able to subsume all merits of the three times.'
