4.236

經　「此說法處道場之地，一切諸天人非人等一切眾生不應履踐及以污穢。何以故？說法之處即是制底，當以香華繒綵旛蓋而為供養。我等常為守護，令離衰損。」

"This place where the Dharma is expounded, the ground of the bodhimanda, ought not to be trodden upon or defiled by any devas, humans, non-humans, or any sentient beings whatsoever. Why? The place where the Dharma is expounded is indeed a caitya (caitya). One should make offerings to it with incense, flowers, silks, banners, and canopies. We shall constantly guard and protect it, keeping it free from decline and loss."
