4.237

贊曰：尊重說處。有三：初標、次徵、後釋。釋中有二：初釋不應踐污所以、次應修供養。修供養中，初勸他供養、後自作守護。

Commentary: 'Showing reverence to the place of exposition.' There are three parts: first, marking it out; next, questioning; last, explaining. Within the explanation there are two parts: first, explaining why it should not be trodden upon or defiled; next, that one should cultivate offerings. Within cultivating offerings, first, exhorting others to make offerings; last, guarding and protecting it oneself.
