贊曰：別明四大互乖無常有苦。初兩頌總明相乖故無常、後一頌顯性各別故有苦。初復有二：初一頌總明相違、次一頌明相違所以。

The Commentary says: This specifically explains that the catvāri mahābhūtāni are mutually conflicting, impermanent, and painful. The first two verses generally explain that being mutually conflicting, they are impermanent; the last verse reveals that having distinct natures, there is suffering. The first part also has two: the first verse generally explains mutual conflict; the next verse explains the reason for the mutual conflict.
