贊曰：校量難知。初二頌舉一三千塵數、次一頌舉十方塵數、後兩頌正校量不知。初也。

Commentary: Explaining that it is difficult to know by comparison and measurement. The first two verses cite the number of dust motes in one trichiliocosm; the next verse cites the number of dust motes in the ten directions; the final two verses directly compare and measure, showing that it cannot be known. This is the first part.
