釋名者,依者能依,即所修行;亦通所依,所依即於聲境第七攝。空者是境,即行所觀。滿願者,果隨願得滿,即所修行稱空境修,離有無執,當得果滿,名依空滿願。此品廣明,故以為名。
Explaining the title: 'Relying' means that which relies, namely, the practice that is cultivated; it also encompasses that which is relied upon, and that which is relied upon falls under the seventh [case] of the acoustic domain (locative case). 'Emptiness' is the object, namely, what is contemplated by practice. 'Fulfilling vows' means that the fruit is fulfilled in accordance with one's vows—that is, the practice cultivated is cultivated in accord with the object of emptiness, free from attachment to existence or nonexistence, and one will attain the fulfillment of the fruit; hence it is called 'Fulfilling Vows by Relying on Emptiness'. Because this chapter explains this in detail, it is taken as the title.
