5.132

贊曰：法輪用。有三：渡大海，離苦諦。脫生死，斷集諦，由惑繫縛輪迴生死，故斷集諦云解脫也。業非縛義，非生死本，故不云業。或亦攝業，同集諦故。「值遇佛」下得善友。

Commentary: "The function of the wheel of Dharma." There are three [aspects]: crossing the great sea [means] being free from the truth of suffering (duḥkhasatya). Being liberated from saṃsāra [means] cutting off the truth of origin (samudayasatya); because one is bound by defilements to transmigrate in birth-and-death, cutting off the truth of origin is called "liberation". Karma does not have the meaning of binding, nor is it the root of birth-and-death; therefore it does not mention karma. Or [one may say] it also subsumes karma, because it shares in the truth of origin. From "encountering buddhas" onward [means] obtaining good spiritual friends.
