5.135

經　爾時四天王俱共合掌白佛言：「世尊！若有人王於其國土雖有此經未甞流布，心生捨離不樂聽聞，亦不供養尊重讚歎，見四部眾持經之人亦復不能尊重供養，遂令我等及餘眷屬無量諸天不得聞此甚深妙法，背甘露味、失正法流，無有威光及以勢力，增長惡趣、損減人天，墜生死河、乖涅槃路。」

Sūtra: At that time, the Four Heavenly Kings together joined their palms and addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honoured One! If there is a king of men in whose realm, although this sūtra is present, it has never been circulated, and he produces a mind of abandonment, takes no delight in listening to it, nor does he make offerings, revere, or praise it; and seeing those of the fourfold assembly who uphold the sūtra, he is likewise unable to revere them or make offerings to them—he will thereby cause us and the rest of our retinues, the immeasurable hosts of gods, to be unable to hear this extremely profound, wondrous Dharma; we will turn our backs on the taste of amṛta, lose the stream of the saddharma, possess no majesty or power, and there will be an increase in bad destinies, a decrease in humans and devas, a falling into the river of saṃsāra, and a divergence from the path to nirvāṇa."
