贊曰：第二四王法護，分四：初標呪功能、次「欲受持」下二持呪方軌、三「時有薜室囉」下明得呪益、四「假使日月」下立誓守護。初文有三：初說呪人、次標呪名、後「若有眾生」下說呪能。

The Commentary says: The second [part], the Dharma protection of the Four Heavenly Kings, is divided into four: first, indicating the efficacy of the dhāraṇī; second, from 'Those who wish to receive and uphold it' down, the method and procedure for upholding the dhāraṇī; third, from 'At that time there is a prince of Vaiśravaṇa' down, clarifying the benefits obtained from the dhāraṇī; fourth, from 'Even if the sun and the moon' down, taking a vow to guard and protect. The first text has three items: first, the person who speaks the dhāraṇī; second, indicating the name of the dhāraṇī; third, from 'If there are sentient beings' down, speaking of the dhāraṇī's capability.
