Below is the reply to the meaning of the questions. First, replying to the meaning; from "therefore it is named non-attachment" below, replying to the phrasing. Phrasing refers to the name. When the preceding four meanings such as functioning reside in a buddha, they are collectively named "virtues" and so forth. Alternatively, they can act as a cause: relying on this, one can obtain the uncommon dharmas of a buddha, and so forth, called "virtues"; being able to cause freedom from fault is called "prohibitions and precepts"; acting as the teacher of buddhas is called "learning"; because the wondrous principle of the dharmakāya is profound and difficult to fathom, it is called "secret intention"; producing the retribution and transformation buddhas is called "birthplace". Because the expressive teaching expresses this meaning, it is called the Dharma-gate of non-attachment and so forth. Alternatively, mindfulness and discernment are themselves called the Dharma-gate, serving as a gate for the retained dharmas, which is the gate of the Dharma. Alternatively, relying on this dhāraṇī one can give birth to virtues and so forth. "Marvelous Dharma" means the gate of the marvelous Dharma; or, this marvelous Dharma encompasses both that which brings forth and that which is brought forth, thus allowing both tatpuruṣa and karmadhāraya compound interpretations.
