下明擁護，有二，初護法師、後「及聽者」下護聽眾等。護法師中有三：一所弘經及時、二「所在宣攝」下弘經處、三「世尊」下明擁護。

Below clarifies guarding and protecting, which has two parts: first, protecting the Dharma master; later, from "and those who listen" onward, protecting the audience who listen and so forth. Within protecting the Dharma master, there are three points: first, the sūtra being propagated and the time; second, from "wherever... is preached and gathered" onward, the place of propagating the sūtra; third, from "World-Honoured One" onward, explaining the guarding and protecting.
