下益聽者。於中復二：初由益法師令法久住，亦由聽受者於百千佛所殖諸善根故感說法者及此經法因緣所以義，以是得智等，所以能流布，及由聽受者善根力不速隱沒。次「彼諸」下明聞法得益，有六：一得前四智、二「及以」下得成福智、三得生人天、四得值諸佛、五證菩提、六離惡道。如文可解。以聽者得此，影知法師亦得此益。以劣影勝，義準定得。

Below clarifies benefiting the listeners. Within this there are again two parts: first, through benefiting the Dharma master, causing the Dharma to abide long; also, because the listeners have planted all roots of goodness before hundreds of thousands of buddhas, they induce the causes, conditions, and reasons of the Dharma preacher and this sūtra teaching; by this they attain wisdom and so forth, which is why it can be propagated, and by the power of the listeners' roots of goodness it does not quickly disappear. Next, from "When those..." onward, clarifying the benefits obtained from hearing the Dharma, which has six points: 1. attaining the preceding four wisdoms; 2. from "and an immeasurable" onward, attaining the perfection of merit and wisdom; 3. attaining rebirth among humans and gods; 4. attaining meetings with buddhas; 5. realizing bodhi; 6. escaping the evil realms. This is understandable according to the text. Since the listeners attain this, one implicitly knows that the Dharma master also attains these benefits. By using the lesser to reflect the superior, it is understood through principle that he definitely attains it.
