Regarding the explanation of the name: saying 'the guild-master's son' indicates the father to clarify the son, demonstrating the nobility of his clan. 'Jalavāhana' (Flowing Water) manifests his name through his deeds, clarifying the excellence of his actions. Moreover, he himself was also a guild-master, but to distinguish him from his father, he is again called 'son'. Because he possessed the virtue of nurturing people and fostering fish, he was called a guild-master. 'Flowing Water' (Jalavāhana) has two meanings: first, being able to make water flow; second, being able to give water. Deriving his name from his deeds, this manifests both virtue and practice together. Because this chapter comprehensively explains this matter, it is taken as its title.
