6.115

經　爾時佛告菩提樹神：「善女天！爾時長者子流水，於往昔時在天自在光王國內療諸眾生所有病苦，令得平復受安隱樂。時諸眾生以病除故多修福業，廣行惠施以自歡娛。即共往詣長者子所，咸生尊敬，作如是言：『善哉善哉！大長者子！善能滋長福德之事，增益我等安隱壽命。仁今實是大力醫王，慈悲菩薩妙閑醫藥，善療眾生無量病苦。』如是稱歎周遍城邑。」

Sūtra: At that time, the Buddha said to the Bodhi Tree deity: 'O Devī! At that time, in the past, in the kingdom of King Deva-vaśavartin-prabhāsa, the guild-master's son Jalavāhana treated all the painful illnesses of sentient beings, restoring them and allowing them to experience peaceful bliss. At that time, because their illnesses were eradicated, the sentient beings cultivated much meritorious karma and broadly practiced generous giving to gladden themselves. They then went together to the dwelling of the guild-master's son, all giving rise to reverence, and spoke as follows: "Splendid, splendid! O son of the great guild-master! You are well able to foster matters of merit and increase our peaceful lifespan. You are truly now a great, powerful king of physicians, a compassionate bodhisattva marvelously skilled in medicines, who excels at treating the immeasurable painful illnesses of sentient beings." In this way, praises resounded throughout the cities and towns.'
