下外行利樂，有二：初思欲入池。「作是念」下正為饒益，中復有二：初為稱佛名；「爾時流水」下為說深法，亦即未信令信，已信令解。初中，初稱佛名，「此佛往昔」下釋為稱此佛之所以。

Below is the "external performance of benefit and joy", which has two parts: first, thinking to enter the pond. From "Having had this thought" onward is the "direct provision of benefit", which also has two parts: first, reciting the Buddha's name for them; from "At that time Jalavāhana" onward, preaching the profound Dharma for them—that is to say, causing those without faith to have faith, and those who have faith to attain understanding. In the first part, he first recites the Buddha's name; from "When this Buddha in the past" onward, he explains the reason for reciting this Buddha's [name].
