下品第三段結會今古。有四：一結會菩薩父子。二「彼天自在」下結會樹神。三「十千魚下」結會天子，於中復三，初結會人、次「因我」下結會法、後「因此善根」下結成善因得記所以。四「善女天」下勸信令修。

The third section of the lower chapter connects the present with the past. It has four [parts]: 1. Connecting the bodhisattva father and sons. 2. From "That King Jalendradhara" onward, connecting the tree deity. 3. From "the ten thousand fish" onward, connecting the devaputras, within which there are again three: first, connecting the persons; next, from "Because in the past I" onward, connecting the Dharma; after that, from "by virtue of these roots of good" onward, drawing the conclusion regarding the good cause and the reason for receiving predictions. 4. From "Good Goddess" onward, exhorting faith and enjoining practice.
