下品第四大段眾聞得益，文分為三：初牒前所說、次「無量阿僧祇耶」下明得益多少、次「復告樹神」下答問總結。準前長行，但阿難問佛禮塔由，此中即答樹神所問，故前問中應有樹神同問禮由，但略不說。後「佛攝神力」下明塔歸故，以事訖故。

Below, the fourth major section shows the assembly hearing and receiving benefit; the text is divided into three: first, it repeats what was previously spoken; second, from "an immeasurable asaṃkhyeya" onwards, it clarifies the amount of benefit gained; third, from "He further addressed the tree deity" onwards, it answers the question and concludes. According to the preceding prose, only Ānanda asked about the reason for the Buddha paying obeisance to the stupa, but here he replies to what the tree deity asked; therefore, in the earlier questioning, the tree deity must likewise have asked about the reason for the obeisance, though it was omitted for brevity. Afterwards, from "The Buddha withdrew his supernormal power" onwards, it clarifies the return of the stupa to its place because the business was finished.
