6.296

經　爾時覩史多天子合掌恭敬說伽陀曰：「佛說如是經，若有能持者，當住菩提位，來生覩史天。世尊我慶悅，捨天殊勝報，住於贍部洲，宣揚是經典。」

Sūtra: At that time, a devaputra of the Tuṣita heaven joined his palms with reverence and spoke gāthās, saying:
"The Buddha has preached such a sūtra as this;
If there are those who can uphold it,
They shall abide in the stage of awakening (bodhi),
And come to be born in the Tuṣita heaven.
World-Honoured One, I rejoice;
Abandoning the superior retribution of heaven,
I shall abide in Jambudvīpa,
To propagate this classic scripture."
