6.90

下第四明習醫緣，有六：一時眾病生、二「善女天」下菩薩悲起、三「我父」下思父年邁、四「今有無量」下念患無醫、五「我今當至」下我求妙方、六「若得解已」下念往療疾。

Below, the fourth [part] clarifies the causes and conditions for studying medicine, which has six [points]: first, at that time the various illnesses of the multitude arose; second, from 'Suvarṇaprabhā' onward, the bodhisattva's compassion arose; third, from 'my father' onward, he reflects that his father is aged; fourth, from 'now there are immeasurable' onward, he considers that the afflicted have no physician; fifth, from 'I should now go' onward, he seeks the marvelous methods; sixth, from 'once I have attained an understanding' onward, he intends to go and cure the illnesses.
