The sūtra: "Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the first stage, this sign manifests first: the trichiliocosm is filled without remainder with measureless, boundless kinds of jewel treasuries, and the bodhisattva sees them all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the second stage, this sign manifests first: the ground of the trichiliocosm is as level as the palm of a hand, adorned with measureless, boundless implements of pure, precious jewels of various wondrous colors, and the bodhisattva sees them all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the third stage, this sign manifests first: one's own body is brave and robust, adorned with armor and weapons, and capable of crushing and subduing all bandit-foes, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the fourth stage, this sign manifests first: the wind circles of the four quarters scatter and spread various wondrous flowers, covering the earth, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the fifth stage, this sign manifests first: there is a wondrous jewel maiden, her body completely adorned with multifaceted jewel necklaces and her head crowned with famous flowers as an ornament, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the sixth stage, this sign manifests first: a seven-jeweled flower pond has stairways on four sides, with golden sand spread everywhere, pure and free from defilement, completely filled with water possessing the eight virtuous qualities, adorned here and there with utpala flowers, kumuda flowers, and puṇḍarīka flowers; in that flower pond one roams and disports, joyous and incomparably cool, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the seventh stage, this sign manifests first: before the bodhisattva there are sentient beings who are due to fall into hell, but by the power of the bodhisattva they are enabled not to fall, suffering no injury and feeling no terror, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the eighth stage, this sign manifests first: on both sides of the body are lion kings serving as guardians, and all beasts are terrified, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the ninth stage, this sign manifests first: a wheel-turning sage king is surrounded and venerated by measureless kotis of assemblies, with a white parasol over his head adorned with measureless varieties of jewels, and the bodhisattva sees it all. Good sons, for the bodhisattva of the tenth stage, this sign manifests first: the body of the Tathāgata shines with a golden radiance, measureless pure light is completely perfected, and he is surrounded by, revered, and offered to by measureless kotis of Brahmā kings, turning the unsurpassed, wondrous wheel of Dharma, and the bodhisattva sees it all."
