覆者，反復也，謂若能返照真識，則一切愛見妄想自然消滅，能熏妄想既滅，則所熏根識亦泯，是為相滅。

'Cover' [fu] here means to turn back [fanfu]: it means that if one can reflect back upon the true consciousness, all vikalpas of craving and views naturally vanish; once the vikalpa capable of perfuming ceases, the faculty-consciousnesses that were perfumed also disappear. This is the cessation of lakṣaṇa.
