良醫隨病授藥不同，以況如來應量說法有異。然如來所說自覺真實境界，非外道小乘境界也。妄想即外道，《入楞伽》云：「外道非境界，聲聞亦復然。」

A skilled physician dispenses different medicines according to the illness, illustrating that the Tathāgata's preaching of the Dharma differs according to capacities. However, the true realm of self-realization spoken of by the Tathāgata is not the realm of tīrthikas or the Hīnayāna. "Vikalpa" refers to tīrthikas. The *Entry into Laṅkā* says: "It is not the realm of the tīrthikas, and the same is true of the śrāvakas."
