佛告大慧：「非觀察不生妄想言無。所以者何？妄想者，因彼生故，依彼角生妄想。以依角生妄想，是故言依因故，離異不異故，非觀察不生妄想言無角。」

The Buddha told Mahāmati: "It is not that by observing non-arising vikalpa one speaks of nonexistence. Why is this? As for vikalpa, because it arises dependent on that, it arises based on those horns. Because vikalpa arises based on the horns, for this reason it is said to depend on a cause; and because it is free from difference and non-difference, it is not that by observing non-arising vikalpa one speaks of the nonexistence of horns."
