The first four lines clarify that the noble wisdom of the Mahāyāna realizes that the false is itself the real. Delusion and false dharmas are the realm of ordinary beings; when seen with the Buddha eye, they are nothing other than real. Yet this reality is also not a substantial entity; being free from both emptiness and existence is reality, genuinely because the noble wisdom realizes that false dharmas are themselves real. The latter four lines clarify that those of lesser wisdom separate from the false to reveal the real, but attached to lakṣaṇas in the real, this too is delusion. It is like an eye having a cataract: what is seen is impure.
