From "speaking of illusory nature" downward, he explains the meaning of speaking of illusion. First, it is for the separation of nature, because knowing the nature of illusion is separating from svabhāva; as the Yuanjue says, "knowing illusion is separation." Second, it is to refute the marks grasped by ordinary fools. This again has three aspects: not knowing cittadṛśyamātra is the first; destroying dharmas produced by correct causes and conditions is the second; and taking the svabhāvalakṣaṇa of conditions to be truly existent and clinging to them is the third; hence he speaks of all dharmas having marks like an illusion or a dream to refute them. From "not letting ordinary fools" downward, he concludes the faults and reveals the virtues: making improper discourse regarding the real state concludes the faults; improper discourse is clinging to self-nature and other-nature, which is conceptual proliferation. Furthermore, from "in their real state" downward, he reveals the virtues. The Ru Lengqie says: "Seeing all dharmas in their real state means being able to thoroughly understand that they are only appearances of mind."
