「復次，有三種智，謂知生滅、知自共相、知不生不滅。復次，無礙相是智，境界種種礙相是識。復次，三事和合生方便相是識，無事方便自性相是智。復次，得相是識，不得相是智，自得聖智境界不出不入故，如水中月。」

"Furthermore, there are three kinds of jñāna: namely, knowing arising and cessation, knowing svalakṣaṇa and sāmānyalakṣaṇa, and knowing non-arising and non-cessation. Furthermore, the lakṣaṇa of non-obstruction is jñāna; the manifold lakṣaṇas of obstruction regarding realms are vijñāna. Furthermore, the expedient lakṣaṇa produced by the conjunction of the three factors is vijñāna; the expedient svabhāva lakṣaṇa free of factors is jñāna. Furthermore, the lakṣaṇa of attainment is vijñāna; the lakṣaṇa of non-attainment is jñāna, because the realm of noble jñāna attained by oneself neither goes out nor comes in, like the moon in the water."
