「復次大慧！外道有九種轉變論，外道轉變見生，所謂形處轉變、相轉變、因轉變、成轉變、見轉變、性轉變、緣分明轉變、所作分明轉變、事轉變。大慧！是名九種轉變見，一切外道因是起有無生轉變論。云何形處轉變？謂形處異見。譬如金變作諸器物，則有種種形處顯現，非金性變，一切性變亦復如是。或有外道作如是妄想，乃至事變妄想，彼非如非異，妄想故。」

"Furthermore, Mahāmati, the tīrthikas have nine kinds of transformation theories. The tīrthikas' views on transformation arise, namely: transformation of shape and place, transformation of characteristics, transformation of cause, transformation of completion, transformation of view, transformation of nature, transformation of clarity of conditions, transformation of clarity of what is done, and transformation of affairs. Mahāmati, these are called the nine kinds of transformation views; all tīrthikas, based on these, give rise to theories of the arising of existence and nonexistence through transformation. What is the transformation of shape and place? It refers to seeing differences in shape and place. For instance, when gold is transformed into various vessels, diverse shapes and places are manifested, but the nature of the gold does not transform; the transformation of all natures is also like this. There are some tīrthikas who construct such false discrimination, up to the false discrimination of the transformation of affairs; they are neither identical nor different, because of false discrimination."
