"Four equalities": syllables, words, bodies, and dharmas are all four equal. "Equality of syllables" means that my name is Buddha, and all Tathāgatas are also named Buddha; the Buddha-name has no distinction, which is equality of syllables. "Equality of words" means that I produce sixty-four kinds of Brahmā-voice sounds and speech, and all Buddhas do likewise; this is called equality of words. The second roll of the Guhyakādhipatinirdeśa Sūtra says that the Buddha's voice has eight inflections, namely nominative, accusative, instrumental, dative, ablative, genitive, locative, and vocative; each of these eight inflections possesses eight virtues, namely harmonious voice, gentle voice, clear voice, easily understood voice, non-erroneous voice, non-effeminate voice, vast voice, and deep-resonant voice. Eight times eight makes sixty-four kinds. Viṅka is the name of a bird; its voice is pure and elegant, surpassing all birds, so it is cited as a simile. "Equality of bodies" means that between my and the Buddhas' dharma, reward, and response-transformation bodies there is no distinction; although capacities are unequal and response traces may differ, their final convergence is just one. "Equality of dharmas" means that the dharmas of the path-factors attained are no different from those of all Buddhas. Speaking of "unobstructed wisdom" means that when one attains these four equalities, one is unobstructed with respect to all Buddha-dharmas, and is not deluded about the identity and difference in the Tathāgata's transformative traces.
