佛告大慧：「諦聽！諦聽！善思念之，當為汝說。」大慧白佛言：「世尊！惟願為說。」佛告大慧：「六地菩薩摩訶薩及聲聞、緣覺入滅正受。第七地菩薩摩訶薩念念正受，離一切性自性相正受，非聲聞、緣覺。諸聲聞、緣覺墮有行覺攝所攝相滅正受。是故七地非念正受，得一切法無差別相，非分得種種相性，覺一切法善不善相正受，是故七地無善念正受。大慧！八地菩薩及聲聞、緣覺心、意、意識妄想相滅。」

The Buddha told Mahāmati: 'Listen attentively! Listen attentively, and think on it well; I shall speak for you.' Mahāmati said to the Buddha: 'World-Honoured One! We only wish for you to speak.' The Buddha told Mahāmati: 'Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas of the sixth stage, as well as śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, enter the attainment of cessation. Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas of the seventh stage attain it thought-moment by thought-moment, attaining that which is free from the marks of the svabhāva of all natures, unlike śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas. Śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas fall into the attainment of cessation marked by the awareness of active sankhāras and grasper-grasped. Therefore, the seventh stage is not an attainment abiding in thought; it attains the non-differentiated mark of all dharmas, not an attainment of the natures of various marks in parts, but an attainment that is aware of the good and non-good marks of all dharmas; therefore, the seventh stage has no attainment of good thoughts. Mahāmati! For bodhisattvas of the eighth stage, as well as śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, the marks of false discrimination of citta, manas, and manovijñāna cease.'
