The seven kinds of impermanence are all external reckonings; they are first listed and then explained. In the list, only "the impermanence of the transformation of form" includes an explanation within it. "Form" refers to the form created by the four great elements; "transformation" refers to origination, staying, change, and cessation. "Disintegrating spontaneously without interruption" and so on means that continuous succession brings about change, naturally reverting to destruction. Like the transformation of milk into curd, although unseen, within the dharmas it naturally alters and destroys all dharmas. The rest are all fully explained in the text below. In the explanations, some also refute the reckonings while others merely explain the meaning, still not in fixed sequence, yet not going beyond form and nature.
