"Just as the waves of the great ocean
Arise because of fierce winds,
Great billows stirring the dark deeps
Without ever ceasing,
So the ocean of the storehouse consciousness is permanent,
Yet stirred by the wind of realms;
Waves of various consciousnesses
Leap up and evolve in their arising:
Blue, red, and various colors,
Mother-of-pearl, milk, and rock sugar,
Sweet, bland, bearing flowers and fruit."
