"Mahāmati, my ultimate permanence and incomprehensibility are established by the causal lakṣaṇa of the ultimate: they are free from being and non-being; having attained the lakṣaṇa of self-realisation, they therefore have a lakṣaṇa; and being caused by ultimate wisdom, they therefore have a cause, because they are free from being and non-being. It is just as unconditioned space and nirvāṇa are permanent through cessation. In this way, Mahāmati, it is not like the tīrthikas' theories of permanence and incomprehensibility. In this way, Mahāmati, this permanence and incomprehensibility are thus attained by all Tathāgatas through pratyātmāryajñāna; therefore, one should train in the permanence and incomprehensibility attained through pratyātmāryajñāna."
