The answer stating 'It is not through the causes and conditions of all the tīrthikas' and so forth is because the cultivation and realization of tīrthikas are not proper causes and conditions: their causes are not proper causes, and their fruits are not proper fruits; therefore it queries, explains, and refutes them. 'Not accomplished through svalakṣaṇa' means that it is not accomplished through the marks of self-realization, and thus the fruit of the realm of the eternal and inconceivable is also not accomplished. If their cause were accomplished from the marks of self-realization, then because the cause is eternal, the fruit would also be eternal. Saying 'Because of the causal mark of a creator' and so forth means that because the cause produced is a perverse grasping, the eternal and inconceivable does not become an accomplished fruit.
