This states that the Mahāyāna bodhisattva, through original vows and skillful means, wishes to cause all sentient beings to enter nirvāṇa before entering nirvāṇa themselves. As for "the characteristic of the dharma of non-parinirvāṇa," the bodhisattva realizes that birth and death are themselves nirvāṇa, and nirvāṇa is inherently possessed, so there is no separate nirvāṇa to be entered; this is what is meant by "a pure practitioner does not enter nirvāṇa." As for "this also reaches the destiny of the icchantika," because the bodhisattva realizes that evil is itself good, and there is no good to cultivate, their destiny is similar to the icchantika who abandons all good and does not enter nirvāṇa.
