Leaving the suffering of the birth and death of fragmented lifespans, the two vehicles attain the bliss of the nirvāṇa of true emptiness; relishing it within, they make no further progress, yet neither do they regress to become ordinary persons. This samādhi body falls into the pit of the unconditioned, and even after kalpas they do not awaken. Just as a person in the world who is intoxicated with wine is confused and bewildered, lacking all awareness, and only awakens after the wine has worn off, this illustrates the two vehicles turning their faculties and reversing their minds, awakening to the selflessness of dharmas and the ultimate correct wisdom; hence it is said: "they attain the supreme body of the Buddha."
