"Mahāmati, how does the world rely on existence? It means [they claim] that there are worldly causes and conditions that produce, and it is not that they do not exist; that [things] are produced from what exists, not produced from what does not exist. Mahāmati, those who speak thus are speaking of the world as having no cause. Mahāmati, how does the world rely on nonexistence? It means having received the nature of greed, anger, and delusion, they then through vikalpa grasp at the nature of greed, anger, and delusion as a non-entity. Mahāmati, if one does not grasp at the nature of existence, because the nature and characteristics are tranquil, it means that the Tathāgatas, śrāvakas, and pratyekabuddhas do not grasp at the nature of greed, anger, and delusion as existent or nonexistent."
