4.22

'Because of existence there is nonexistence; because of nonexistence there is existence'—these, existence and nonexistence, are established in mutual dependence. Since existence and nonexistence each lack inherent nature, how could one grasp them? Therefore it says: 'one should not grasp; ... one should not conceptualize.' If someone has not yet understood that the two kinds of self are fundamentally empty and gets stuck in speech, this is drowning in the two views of existence and nonexistence; not only does one ruin oneself, but one also ruins others—by what means could one emerge from birth and death? If one can comprehend the Dharmakāya as liberated and sovereign, free from all faults, this is penetrating observation and does not slander the Buddha.
