注大乘入楞伽經 1.16

1.16

舉所聞之法體也，謂如是一部經義，我昔親從佛聞。故《佛地論》云「傳佛教者，言如是之事我昔曾聞。」此總合釋信聞也。

This brings forward the substance of the Dharma that was heard; it means that the doctrine of such an entire sūtra was personally heard by me from the Buddha in the past. Therefore the Buddhabhūmi-śāstra states: 'Those who transmit the Buddha's teaching say, "Matters such as this I personally heard in the past."' This is a collective explanation of faith and hearing.
