The Tathāgata answered: Those who are free from erroneous views do not, by producing marks of discrimination in mutual dependence, speak of non-existence. Why is this? Because those erroneous viewers have false discrimination as their generative cause, and take discrimination arising from the existence or non-existence of horns as that on which they rely. Since that on which they rely is the cause, they falsely imagine existence and non-existence. Yet discrimination and the horn both lack fixed nature, and are free from being different or not different. Those who are free from discrimination do not reveal the non-existence of a hare's horn by virtue of depending upon the lack of nature in an ox's horn.
