This clarifies that because of awakening to the real meaning, one is free from all false discriminations and distractions, thereby attaining nirvāṇa. The real meaning is attained from those who are widely learned. One who is "widely learned" refers to one who skilfully reflects and cultivates in accordance with the meaning, not merely one who is skilled in verbal exposition. Not letting oneself or others fall into the evil views of non-Buddhists is called "widely learned." Therefore, those who seek the real meaning should draw close [to such people], and should strictly avoid approaching those who run contrary to the meaning.
