The Tathāgata cites past events to elucidate worldly treatises extensively, speaking of Brahmā and others as makers of all phenomena. Because of the first question, he answered that it was the first worldly treatise; upon the second question, he answered that it was the second; the later four are explained together as six, and the former six plus the latter five make eleven. "Gautama" is the family name of the Buddha. Its meaning is as explained elsewhere.
