This says that when a bodhisattva reaches the sixth stage, they, together with śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, equally sever the afflictions and saṃsāra of the three realms and are able to enter nirodhasamāpatti. A bodhisattva of the seventh stage is far different from the two vehicles, constantly entering it thought-moment after thought-moment without interruption; the two vehicles have afflictions and saṃsāra to sever, so they cannot constantly enter it thought-moment after thought-moment. A bodhisattva of the eighth stage walks the path of effortless action, constantly in samādhi without the characteristics of entering or emerging; yet like the nirvāṇa of śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, they extinguish the falsely conceptualizing mind and consciousness.
