Sentient beings in the world transmigrate in birth and death, their entanglements of enmity are interconnected, and they fall into the bad destinies and suffer great afflictions, all because of eating meat and mutually killing one another; this increases afflictions and prevents departure [from saṃsāra]. If one can abandon the taste of meat, seek the taste of the Dharma, turn toward one another with a compassionate mind, be pure and clear, and practice in accordance with reality, one will immediately attain anuttarā samyak-saṃbodhi.
