「眾人共臨水上，無能覩其影。愛欲交錯，心中為濁，故不見道。若人漸解懺悔，來近知識，水澄穢除，清淨無垢，即自見形。」

"even though many people together look down over the water, none can see their reflection. Craving and desire intermingle, creating turbidity within the mind, and therefore one does not see the Way. If someone gradually understands and repents, approaches a good spiritual friend, the water becomes clear and impurities are removed, pure and stainless, then they immediately see their own form."
